In February, we were honored to welcome Ibiyinka Olufeme Alao, award-winning Nigerian artist and Arts Ambassador to the United Nations. Alao stopped by BLOOM to visit and to talk about his unique quest to achieve peace using creative expression to build global understanding. Later that evening, Ambassador Alao presented "Visions of True Colours: Using art as a river to water mankind's heart so that we may grow to know peace" to an assembled audience at Gannon University. Through this presentation, Alao motivates and inspires policy makers, peace negotiators, students and the public to see the relationship between the arts, language, geography, culture, science and the quest for peace. Ambassador Alao shares personal experience, conflicts and peace talks in which he has applied these ideas at the United Nations. See More Photos!
